I dont know how she died but it is our loss. She was a good person fun to be around, loved her family and was a very good swimmer. I know she walks with god.
Tami swam AAU for the Tulsa Hurrican Swim Club and was a fantastic swimmer and fierce competitor.
I remember my first concert with her and Jana Sumners, Bachman, Turner Overdrive we had a blast at the concert which was at the Civic Center. After the concert, while waiting on our parents to pick us up three young men approached us and started to pick a fight with her. I believe it was because her hair was cut very short due to her competitive swimming so she wouldn't have to wear a swim cap. She backed all three of them down and I am pretty sure would have kicked there butts.
The cause of her death was ruled unknown. She passed away about 4 or 5 days after having her first and only child a little boy.
I do have several pictures and I will try to get more accurate info on the actual date she passed.
I don't know exactly when she passed, but I thought I heard it had something to do with an aneurysm. I've thought about her frequently over the years, because she was one of my first friends after my family moved to Tulsa. We spent more time together in junior high, moving into different groups in high school, but she was always fun to be around. Her Mom was always nice, too. If you ever spent much time in the health center at TU, she probably treated you at some point. I know Tami is missed, but I know she's in heaven.
sorry to hear about tammy. she was the best breast stroker in the state. it was really hard swimming on the team with her...none of the rest of us could compete. she was so darn fast.

I happened to notice on our tour of Memorial this past reunion, That she still holds the record for a particular swimming event. Wow. what a tribute..
