Doug was a fun guy.  Funny how guys always remember what people drove back in high school.  Doug had a great Olds Cutlass.  He was always willing to drive friends around.  On any given Friday or Saturday night, Doug was bound to have a car load of friends.

I can remember Doug, Rusty Linker and I sitting near eachother in Mr. Flippo's class at Byrd. One day I came in the class and found an open combination lock left in my desk.  Rusty and his belt loops near the holes in the desk seat in front of me was too appealing to me.  Of course I had Doug coaxing me the whole time but when Rusty heard the click of the lock and realized I had locked him to his desk by his pants loop... he began trying to escape the chair!  The three of us laughed so hard and Rusty was a great sport about it... even when Mr. Flippo had to cut his pants loop to free him from my capture!  I can still picture Doug laughing and putting his head down on the desk!  I KNOW you are in a better place, Doug.

I have so many wonderful and fun memories with Doug. I still have his ID bracelet and his Tulsa poster.   Now that I have clicked to comment, I am too emotional to write any.  Doug died on oct. 9th, 1987. He is buried in memorial park cememtery.  I know I will always love him.  I also am greatful to have had many opportunities to talk to doug about life and death and faith and knowing Jesus as his Savior.

My most vivid memory of Doug was in 9th grade science class at Byrd.  He was my lab partner and we anaesthetized fruit flies one day for class.  They were asleep on a piece of paper on our table and Doug thought it was funny to blow them away.  They scattered all over the desk and on the floor.  We couldn't get them all and when they woke up they were flying everywhere.  He was always pulling pranks in science, mostly on me.  RIP Doug.
